Kindred Stamps July Release – Plastic Friends

Welcome to the Kindred Stamps July Stamp release.   We have a great variety of stamp sets for you this month.  I am so lucky to be a part of this blog hop and for today’s projects, I am showcasing the new Plastic Friends stamp set.

I got carried away and created three (3) projects today.  For my first card, I colored the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.   I fuzzy-cut the images with my precision cut scissors.  For my borders, I cut some 110 lb. crd stock using the Drifting Stitches Borders by Simon Says Stamp.  I also die-cut a patterned paper by Molly & Rex that Purchased at my local Michael’s Craft Store.  Here is my first card:

I have yet to master the art of coloring hair.  It is a huge struggle for me but I still LOVE how this card turned out.  Here’s another look:

For my second card, I inked up some Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks with my mini ink-blending tools.  I used Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, Seedless Preserves and Worn Lipstick.  I sprayed it with water using my distress sprayer and dabbed it with my paper towel.

I die-cut the little window using a Stitched Rectangle Peek-A-Boo die by My Favorite Things.  I adhered this onto my card base, and also adhered the cute image.  I finished the design by stamping the sentiment.  Here’s the second card:

For my third project, I die-cut some Bristol Smooth white card stock using the CityScape die by My Favorite Things.  I inked up my die-cut with distress oxide inks.  Once again, I used Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, Seedless Preserves and Worn Lipstick.  I then flipped the colored background and used Black Soot.

I sprayed my colored background with distress sprayer and dabbed it with my paper towel.  I used a Clouds Border Stencil to color my card base with Broken China distress oxide ink.  I adhered the die-cut piece to my background.  To finish the design, I adhered the images and stamped the sentiment onto the card.

I think this one is my favorite.  I just love the rainbow-colored background!  Here’s a little close-up:

I added some white dots on their cheeks and also used my black glazed pen for the eyes.  I really love how this card turned out!

  1. I think you did an awesome job on the hair. Loved the 3 dots on their cheeks. And the rainbow city is so refreshing.
