Merry Christmas Cards with Slothy Christmas by Newton’s Nook Designs

Howdy?!  I hope everyone’s having a great week so far.  Did you check out last week’s holiday reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs?  Which one was your favorite?  It’s really hard to pick but the Slothy Christmas stamp set definitely captured my crafty heart!  I am back today to share with you more inspiration from last week’s reveal.  I am featuring the Slothy Christmas stamp set and coordinating dies, with the Forest Scene Builder Die Set, the Ornament Shaker Die Set, Holiday Greetings Die Set and the Ornamental Wishes stamp set.

For my first project, I wanted to create a fun shaker card.  I colored the image on some smooth white card stock and used the coordinating die to die-cut the image.  I used a fun die from my stash to create my winter scene.  I also die-cut the little stockings using the Ornament Shaker die set and colored them red with my Copic marker.

I wanted my Sloth to look like it’s hanging from the stringy snowflake so I covered my frame with a piece of acetate sheet then tucked in my image, and covered it again with another piece of acetate so that it is safe and sandwiched between the two acetate sheets.  This will prevent it from moving and this will also prevent the shaker element to get stuck in the snowflake background.  I created my well by adding foam adhesive and used the White Hearts sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness as my shaker element.

I die-cut the little stockings from the Ornament Shaker Die set and the pine trees from the Forest Scene Builder die set.  Here’s my first card:

To finish my design, I die-cut the “merry” from the Holiday Greetings Die set and stamped the sentiment Christmas from the  Snow globe stamp set.

Isn’t he a cutie-patootie?  I absolutely adore the Holiday release by Newton’s Nook!  Here’s another look:

I wasn’t planning on creating another card but a friend of mine requested that she needed a gift card holder and she absolutely LOVED the Sloth so I made another project.  Here’s the card when it’s closed:

The pine needles are from the Pines and Holly die set.  I also covered the white portion of the hat with some stardust sitckles.  Here’s what it look like when it’s open:
